Compare Tata Indica Vista Drivetech4 and Volkswagen Polo

Tata launched the new Indica Vista Drivetech4 few days back, the new car has a better gear box then the old one . Indica Vista drivetech 4 is available in both petrol as well as diesel.

Its completion is going to be with many hot hatch backs present in Indian market one of them being VW Polo. Thought polo is quite expensive but still the features and specs for both the cars are more or less similar.

Here is a small comparison between these two hatchbacks.

The new features of the Tata Indica vista Drive Tech 4 include the latest Drive-by-wire technology, Eurotech gearbox apart from BS4 Complaint engine. The company has also introduced a 4-spoke tilt- adjustable steering wheel, dual air bags for both the driver and the passengers and an Anti-Lock Braking System. The driving seats can now be customized with height-adjustable drivers’ seat to deliver a comfortable driving position.

The Indica Vista Drivetech4 comes with a specially designed Eurotech gearbox mated to an option between either the brilliant Safire petrol engine or the even better Quadrajet diesel mill. The Eurotech gearbox has been designed to deliver higher torque at lower RPM, while at the same time, reducing vibration and improving the gear shifting experience.

Cons : The looks are the same as that of vista , no newness

Pricing : The petrol model is expected to cost around Rs. 3.57 lakh while the diesel version will come with a price tag of Rs. 4.4 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Volkswagen Polo

VW is all set to enter the predominant small car market of India with there offering “Polo” .The car has been introduced with the 1.2-litre three-pot petrol and the 1.2-litre diesel engine options. Available in three trims – Trendline, Comfortline and Highline – deliveries for the petrol engined version of the car will begin in March. It will be a while before the diesel version of the Polo hits the streets however – deliveries for the Polo TDi will begin only in May.

The car looks good and very impressive from the outside with clean and simple design, Yet from the outside it givesthe big car feel. But when inside it doesn’t seem very big , once you are inside you will feel that you are in small car . The fit and finish of the car is not very great but not bad too . The quality of material could have been better.

As far as the specifications of the car goes like this..

The petrol variant of the VW Polo is equipped with a 1.2 litre engine with an output of 75HP @ 5400 rpm and a maximum torque of 110NM @ 3750 rpm.The diesel variant is also equipped with the 1.2 litre engine with an output of 75HP @ 4200 rpm and torque of 180 NM @ 2000 rpm.

Cons : Plasticy interiors, High Price (compared to Indica drivetech4)

Bottom Line : Indica Vista Drivetech4 offers more as an overall package for its price point when compared to much pricey VW Polo which has the VW brand in its favor .so let me put it in this way value for money car is Vista Drivetech4 and if one is looking for European style branded premium hatch sure Polo is the one.
