Maruti Suzuki Swift was and is one of the hot selling small cars in India . The main reason behind this was the car had lots of things going for her like looks , efficiency, and the good old trust of Maruti Suzuki.

But with a launch of Tata Indica Vista Drivetech4 few days back, added to more competition for Swift both have a good value and a trusted name behind them .Its sure gonna be a tough fight between these two.

Tata Indica Vista Drivetech 4

The new features of the Tata Indica vista Drive Tech 4 include the latest Drive-by-wire technology, Eurotech gearbox apart from BS4 Complaint engine. The company has also introduced a 4-spoke tilt- adjustable steering wheel, dual air bags for both the driver and the passengers and an Anti-Lock Braking System. The driving seats can now be customized with height-adjustable drivers’ seat to deliver a comfortable driving position.

The Indica Vista Drivetech4 comes with a specially designed Eurotech gearbox mated to an option between either the brilliant Safire petrol engine or the even better Quadrajet diesel mill. The Eurotech gearbox has been designed to deliver higher torque at lower RPM, while at the same time, reducing vibration and improving the gear shifting experience.

Cons : The looks are the same as that of vista , no newness

Pricing : The petrol model is expected to cost around Rs. 3.57 lakh while the diesel version will come with a price tag of Rs. 4.4 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Maruti Suzuki Swift

Maruti Suzuki Swift is rocking the hatchback car segment of India and has become the blockbuster model since its launch. Swift is cool, stylish and dressed powerfully. Big dimensions, great fuel economy, larger fuel tank capacity, European style looks, eye-catching interiors and above all the support of large Maruti service network

Swift is tight on space. The seats offer good support but legroom and shoulder room is at a premium. The rear passengers will find it rather uncomfortable owing to limited travel of feet under the front seats and lack of headroom.

The new Maruti Swift 2010 petrol includes the latest Kb series engine that is already being used in Ritz and others. The main advantage Kseries engine are its fuel efficiency and pollution control.Swift comes with premium security options like ABS, EBD, airbags etc.

The Swift comes with 1197cc 4 cylinder 16 valve engine with maximum Power 85ps @ 6,000rpm at maximum Torque 113Nm @ 4,500rpm.Five-speed manual synchronized transmission.And offers the fuel rconomy of around 15-18 in city

Swift diesel comes with 1300cc engine, the motor packs quite a punch – 75 bhp at 4000 rpm and lots of torque – 19 kgm at 2000 rpm

Cons : Interiors are not that spacious, Costly compared to Indica

Bottom Line : Well there is a tread-off between the two things here , one is power and other is price .The Swift petrol as well as diesel is more powerful then Vista though the diesel share the same engine in both the cars but Indica Vista drivetech 4 is quite cheaper on price.So its up to the buyer what one really wants from the car.
