Compare Nissan Micra and Maruti Suzuki Ritz

The Nissan Micra is all set to become the latest entrant to plunge into an overcrowded B segment.So we decided to do a small comparison of Micra with its closest rivals one of them being Maruti Suzuki Ritz.

Both the cars have more or less same technical specifications as well as have almost same fuel economy but here the Ritz has the support of Maruti\’s excellent dealer network which Nissan Lacks for now

Nissan Micra

There’s  nice feel you get when you look at the car and that emotion just gets further deepened when you take a closer look at how well the Micra has been put together.

The design theme overall – whether on the outside or in the cabin, is clearly round. Starting from the headlamps, tail lamps to the centre console that houses the music system and air-con controls are all shaped to be round.

Under the Micra’s  hood is a 1198cc three-cylinder petrol engine that has sound pedigree on paper – produces 76PS @ 6000rpm and 104Nm @ 4000rpm. Nissan has done a good job with tuning the engine and has matched it well with the 5 speed manual gearbox to make the Micra peppy and very driveable.

The Nissan Micra will be launched in 3 variants they are Nissan XE,Nissan XL and Nissan XV. All the variants of Micra comes with electric power steering,driver airbag, tilt adjustable steering, Air Conditioning and drive computer.

Pros : All variants have driver side airbags, Universal appeal, Decent space and boot

Cons : Interiors seems plasticy, Dealer network , Top variants will be costlier, no word on diesel variant

Pricing : Will be priced between Rs 3.44 lakh and Rs 5.95 lakh. ( Estimated ) (Petrol)

Maruti Suzuki Ritz

The car is designed following the “tall boy philosophy.” The high roof makes the car appear more spacious.the interior of the Maruti Ritz is designed to give you comfort and a feel of liveliness and luxury. Just because it is a compact car does not mean that it has not enough luggage space. The 60:40 rear seat split enables you to increase your boot space when you are driving with extra luggage.

Maruti Ritz is powered by the lightweight and fuel efficient K12M engine. The petrol version of the engine has a fuel efficiency of 17.7 kmpl

Engine CC: 1197cc (petrol) 1248 cc(diesel)

Maximum power: 85ps@6000 rpm (petrol) and 75ps@4000 rpm.

Maximum torque: 113 Nm@4500 rpm (petrol) and 190 Nm@ 2000 rpm.

Pros : Good space, stylish, mileage, pick-up, ground clearence

Cons : Not as such

Bottom Line : On One hand the Micra brings the good package with good safety features in it as well as a design which appeals to both Men and Women it has no diesel variant launched yet and moreover the dealer network of Nissan is very poor ,this is where Maruti Suzuki Ritz has the upper hand due to its great dealer network and after sale service through out inda.
