Compare Maruti Suzuki Kizashi and Honda Accord

Its been quite a while we have been haring lots of buzz over the Suzuki Kizashi and its launch in India. Well its finally been launched in India , and with the kind of features and looks this baby sports , we sure think it will definitely stir up the competition in the up market A4 segment of cars.

One of the toughest competitor for this one would be Honda Accord. Here is the small comparo between these two gladiators going face to face.

Maruti Suzuki Kizashi

Kizashi is a very good looking and with a solid built quality car , with all the features one could ask for in this segment.The Kizashi has got the right amounts of aggression and sportiness built into it. It has some strong features, like a pronounced waistline, nicely fitting 215/55 R17 rubber and twin exhausts with stainless steel covers. It also comes with these good-looking alloy wheels that look best when it’s on the move.

The car is  powered by a 2.4 litre petrol engine, will be imported from parent Suzuki’s Japan facility. It is capable of churning out a solid 178PS at 6,500 rpm and generates 230Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.

Customers have the choce of manual a well as automatic transmission models. If one opts for the manual version the Kizashi is capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 7.8 seconds flat. Should one opt for the CVT, then the timing increases by a second to 8.8 seconds to do the dash. Top speeds are 215km/h and 205km/h for the manual and CVT versions respectively.

Fuel efficiency as claimed by the manufacturer is 12.53 kmpl for the CVT and 12.45 kmpl for the manual transmission. The company has already started bookings for the car, deliveries for which will begin in March this year.

Cons : Lacks the refinement and plushness the Accord has.

Pricing : Manual transmission priced at Rs 16.5 lakh and Automatic transmission at Rs 17.5 lakh (Ex-Showroom)

Honda Accord

Honda Accord Sedan is a headtuner. It lures with its beautiful and swanky look that adds more style to it. New Honda Accord which is re – designed with more, robust, bold and aggressive look, extra connoting power is more sophisticated and commanding than ever. Honda has always carried the badge of a classy sedan since years.

Honda New Accord is available with two engine options- the 2.4L, 4 – Cylinder i- VTEC engine and 3.5, V6, SHOC i-VTEC with PGM-Fi fuel system. The former delivers a power of 180PS at 6300 rpm and belts out a top torque of 222 Nm at 4300 rpm. This sedan is mated with 5 speed manual transmission and automatic gearbox.

Honda Accord also comes in a higher 3.5 Litre V6 Engine, but here for the comparison we will lok only at 2.4 litre version.

Accord receives a boost in fuel economy due to improved aerodynamics, reduced engine friction, and a tweak in the transmission gearing ratios,Fuel economy is now rated at up to 17-23 mpg in the city and 26-34 mpg on the highway.

Safety features on the Honda Accord include side-impact and side curtain airbags, an electronic stability system, four wheel disc and antilock brakes, and active front head restraints.

Cons : Pricing is bit on up side compared to Kizashi

Bottom Line : The Kizashi is just launched hence it will be very unfair to draw the bottom line in this comparison. yes bt the few aspects where Kizashi scores is on low price compared to Accord and the Futuristic looks and features, where on the other hand the Accord comes with the tried and tested Honda Refinement and Quality.I guess we need to wait and watch till the Kizashi gets on road and in hands of the customers.
