Compare Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and Hyundai Santro Xing

Maruti Suzuki recently launched the new Alto K10 , the new version of its best seller Alto. The car has a lot to offer at a great price point . But it will be facing the competition from another bestseller form Hyundai , yes its what the Hyundai likes to call bread and butter car , the Santro Xing.

Maruti Suzuki has launched a new version of its best selling Alto with the K10B engine.

There are quite a few design changes which includes all new front and rear bumper, new headlamps/tail lamps, new fog lights and new radiator grille. New Steering wheel, instrument cluster and gear knob are the major changes in the new alto compared to old one.

The interiors of Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 are more refreshing and rich in terms of looks and design. The dual tone interiors looks very good and give Alto K10 upmarket look.The instrument comprises of tachometer , speedometer, fuel gauge, temperature gauge ,digital trip-meter and odometer as well.

The 998cc, 3 cyl, MPFi, KB-series engine of New Alto K10 generates maximum power of 67 Bhp with maximum torque of around 90 Nm. The new engine not only makes the Alto K10 more powerful but also offer it a class-beating fuel efficiency figure. The company is claiming an ARAI approved figure of 20.2 kmpl for the light and zippy car.

Hyundai Santro Xing launched in 2003 is the entry level offering from Hyundai its one of the best sellers of Hyundai in India . The all new Santro Xing makes the riding experience quite exciting, as its interior boasts soft touch three spoke steering wheel, sporty instrument cluster and adequate storage space providing true comfort for its riders.

The car is powered by 1086 cc Epsilon engine fired by a Distributorless Ignition System (DLI) that results in improved fuel efficiency, reduced emission, and increased power generating 63 bhp makes Santro Xing an easy to handle car in thick traffic.

The car uses active intelligence technology which can determine the optimum use of the engine under a number of conditions

Bottom Line : Both cars are in the league of there own .Both are same in the technical specs . On one side Santro offers all the needed stuff in a package with its tall boy comfort sitting arrangements, Pricing and fare enough fuel economy, while on the other the new Alto K10 offers unmatched fuel economy in its class and good set of features along with Maruti Suzuki\’s trust and reliability. So its very difficult to say who wins this comparison. I guess we shall call it a draw.
