BPL Mobile (mumbai’s longest standing mobile service provider), turns thirteen

BPL Mobile, Mumbai’s longest standing mobile service provider completes thirteen years. Growing from strength to strength over the years, BPL Mobile has consistently faced the challenges of serving in Mumbai, the most competitive of all Metro circles. In a bid to strengthen its existing network to world-class standards by upgrading the technology, BPL Mobile recently awarded a Rs 100 Cr End to End Telecom Equipment Supply contract to Huawei, aiming to achieve a top-of-the-line all-IP Next Generation Network infrastructure. From installing two state-of-the-art high capacity switches to supporting uninterrupted connectivity and feature rich communication, to being in the midst of swapping their legacy cell sites with contemporary EDGE- enabled ‘Next Generation’ sites, BPL Mobile has set up a brand new network that is Mumbai’s best & truly contemporary.

On completing thirteen years, Mr. Sanjeev Chachondia, CEO, BPL Mobile said,

The June’07 TRAI benchmark study on quality of service of mobile phone service providers across all GSM & CDMA operators places BPL Mobile amongst the top in Mumbai in critical network performance parameters of Call Set Up Success Rate, Call Completion Rates & % age connections with good voice quality with scores ranging between 98.6% - 99.5%.
